We prove a well-posedness result for two pseudo-parabolic problems, which can be seen as two models for the same electrical conduction phenomenon in heterogeneous media, neglecting the magnetic field. One of the problems is the concentration limit of the other one, when the thickness of the dielectric inclusions goes to zero. In this work, we present and analyze a mathematical model for tumor growth incorporating ECM erosion, interstitial flow, and the effect of vascular flow and nutrient transport. The model is of phase-field or diffused-interface type in which multiple phases of cell species and other constituents are separated by smooth evolving interfaces. The model involves a mesoscale version of Darcy’s law to capture the flow mechanism in the tissue matrix. Modeling flow and transport processes in the vasculature supplying the healthy and cancerous tissue, one-dimensional (1D) equations are considered. Since the models governing the transport and flow processes are defined together with cell species models on a three-dimensional (3D) domain, we obtain a 3D–1D coupled model. 相似文献

Here we propose and analyze a mathematical model that aims to describe the marble sulphation process occurring in a given material. The model accounts for rugosity as well as for damaging effects. This model is characterized by some technical difficulties that seem hard to overcome from a theoretical viewpoint. Therefore, we introduce some physically reasonable modifications in order to establish the existence of a suitable notion of solution on a given time interval. We show the short-time existence and nonlinear stability of vortex sheets for the nonisentropic compressible Euler equations in two spatial dimensions, based on the weakly linear stability result of Morando and Trebeschi (2008) [20]. The missing normal derivatives are compensated through the equations of the linearized vorticity and entropy when deriving higher-order energy estimates. The proof of the resolution for this nonlinear problem follows from certain a priori tame estimates on the effective linear problem in the usual Sobolev spaces and a suitable Nash–Moser iteration scheme. 相似文献

We prove the well-posedness of a general evolution reaction–nonlocal diffusion problem under two sets of assumptions. In the first set, the main hypothesis is the Lipschitz continuity of the range kernel and the bounded variation of the spatial kernel and the initial datum. In the second set of assumptions, we relax the Lipschitz continuity of the range kernel to Hölder continuity, and assume monotonic behavior. In this case, the spatial kernel and the initial data can be just integrable functions. The main applications of this model are related to the fields of Image Processing and Population Dynamics. 相似文献

We consider the Griffith fracture model in two spatial dimensions, and prove existence of strong minimizers, with closed jump set and continuously differentiable deformation fields. One key ingredient, which is the object of the present paper, is a generalization to the vectorial situation of the decay estimate by De Giorgi, Carriero, and Leaci. This is based on replacing the coarea formula by a method to approximate functions with small jump set by Sobolev functions, and is restricted to two dimensions. In this paper, we firstly establish the existence theorem of the global weak solutions of the Cauchy problem for the shallow water wave model of moderate amplitude, then following the idea in Xin and Zhang’s work (see Xin and Zhang, 2002), we prove the uniqueness of global weak solutions using the localization analysis in the transport equation theory.
